Did you know Pocket Verifier could do that?
These little pointers and tidbits will help you get the best out of the software.
We’ll be adding even more, so be sure to come back often.

Quickly process a cash sale
Next, tap on the Action button and choose the Cash Sale item. Note: You will not see this choice in the Action Menu unless your iMerchant is powered on and attached to your mobile device.
If you swiped someone’s credit card and it didn’t go through, you can ask for cash and quickly print a cash receipt without any extra typing.
Always printing the same cash sale?
Enter the name as: CASH SALE
Enter the card number as: 4111 1111 1111 1111
Enter the card expiration date as: 12/20
Now enter the amount of the sale.
Next, store this as a pending credit card sale.
When you’re ready to print a cash sale, go to the Sales History, tap on the CASH SALE item, and print! Simple, fast, and easy.
Want to add a sales map to an email receipt?
On the iPhone, when the Sales Location appears on the Approved Sales screen, tap on it to flip the Approval Panel over and display the map. Next, tap on the Email icon. After a few seconds, your email receipt will appear with the sales map.
Geo-tagging your Sale Location is a great new security feature. But, if you don’t want to send the map to your customers, tap on the Email icon when the map is not displayed. You can see an example of this in one of our How-to-videos.
Location Map feature is not available for refund receipts. It is for sales receipts only.
Sales Location not appearing on approvals?
On the iPhone/iPod, make sure Location Services are on for the phone and the software. Go to the Settings screen, select Location Services, and scroll down until you see Verifier. Make sure this is on. Also make sure you are not in Airplane Mode and that you’re in an area that can triangulate your position – spelunking doesn’t count!
After a sale is approved, it will try to get your location. If the location is found, the Sales Location text will appear on the approval screen. In some rare instances, you may not get the exact location, but this is dependent on the device and your location.
Need to change your business name?
To get your DBA name changed, download the DBA Name Change Request Form (96kb PDF).
After your name is updated with the gateway, open Pocket Verifier, go to the Settings screen, and revalidate your account. Your business name and address will then be updated.
Worried about security?
#1 – Use the Lock Code
In Pocket Verifier, go to the Settings screen, tap on the Action button, and Turn Lock Code ON. Enter your lock code information and each time you try to access Pocket Verifier, you will need to enter your code.
#2 – Use Apple’s Passcode Lock & Find my iPhone
For even more security, select Auto-Lock to 1 minute and Passcode Lock On in the General settings of your device. Next, make sure you are using the free Find My iPhone app from Apple. This gives you the added ability to not only find your phone, but to lock it down or wipe all data.
#3 – Make changes to your Merchant Account Online
If you ever loose your device, you can also change your merchant account password by logging into your online account. Pocket Verifier needs to validate this information each time you try to process a credit card. If you change it online, then the software will be completely locked out.
So you see? We’ve got you covered at every angle!
How many approved sales are shown?
How many characters can I enter in textfields?
Password length is 18 (Hint word is 22) char for iPad. For iPhone, it is a 4-digit numeric entry.
What do the A S P buttons mean on the iPad Menu?
Will I lose my pending sales if I use the trim function?
What happens when I save a swiped pending sale?
If you have a swiped sale, yet decide to save it to process later, that sale will be down-qualified to a keyed rate once you save it. But your sale will still stay as a swiped rate until you remove it from the sales screen (i.e., opening another pending sale or starting a new sale).
So here is a little hint… If you don’t have an internet connection and really want to get the swiped rate, keep the sale on the screen and process it when you are in range of a signal.
Can I send signatures on e-mail receipts?
Why doesn’t the Sales Location appear after I make a sale?
If you are using an iPhone or iPad touch, make sure location services are on and that you’re in an area where the device can get your location. The Sale Location link will only appear after it is able to get a lock.
Why do the total values of pending items not match between the list view and detail view in iPad?
If the tax rate has changed since the last time a pending item was saved, then the listView will not be in sync with the detail view. It will sync when you leave the detailed item by selecting another item in the list.
